Based on all the enquiries over the years, our company, once again looking forward to help our customers to find the most suitable system for their needs, has assembled a few kits, specially developed to the results they want to achieve.

Essential oils may be obtained from various parts of the plant: petals, roots, shoots, plant sap, leaves or bark. Depending on the type of plant in question the essential oil may be located in different parts of the plant and so the extraction methods would also vary.

Essential oils are characteristically volatile, that is they evaporate rapidly when exposed to air and are insoluble in water. Essential oils are harder to get, also, distilled in a lot less quantity, mixed with the hydrosols. Then, they are separated after a while due to the different densities of the results.

Distillation is undoubtedly the easiest and least expensive method of extraction which continues to be used by the most prestigious perfume houses for the extraction essential oils. The essential oils and hydrosols are distilled through hydrodistillation or steam distillation and then finally condensed back to liquid. There are various options for distillation besides the traditional alembic or the split top rotating column with which you can create your very own heavenly scent to infuse your mind and body with positive energy. Any of the following distillation kits are perfect for Essential Oil and Hydrosol distillation.

Soldered models are meant to be used on hydrodistillation. During this type of distillation the column is not necessary. The pot should be filled with water and the organic material on a 3:1 ratio. The sieve tray is included to avoid burning the organic material on the bottom, so whenever you use the alembic to distil roots, seeds and grasses or heavier organic material, make sure it’s installed. Avoid using more than 75% of the pot capacity with water and no less than 60% to avoid getting a weak hydrosol. Vegetables with high water content should use 2:1 ratio.

Split top rotating columns are the most versatile copper still. It can be used to make steam distillation to collect both Essential Oils and Hydrosols. By removing the column it allows you to do hydrodistillation. It’s perfect for all kinds of organic material. The column should hold around 80% of the capacity of the pot and the sieve on the bottom is always included. No matter the type of distillation, always make sure to let the alembic breathe and don’t over pack it with organic material.

Have in mind that columns cannot be purchased separately, so we advise our customers to choose the best model to their needs. Other accessories not included can be added, so contact us if you have any questions.
