Recommended for the distillation of spirits. For essential oils and hydrosols please refer to item 4805. This thermometer is placed in a brass casing which is soldered to the swan neck piping just before the curvature starts and where the vapours start to descend into the condensing coil. It is located at the highest point of the vapour passage, before this point many less volatile vapours have fallen back into the pot. It will guarantee users a continuous accurate temperature reading during distillation.
Visible temperature reading on the blue alcohol - Mercury Free - thermometer ranges from 40º to 110ºC, with only a 1º error probability on its total scale. Should you wish to measure temperatures reading in the vapour chamber (lid) please refer to 4805.
Please note: We will install the thermometer if purchased at the same time as the copper still, please allow a few days for the thermometer to be soldered on to the alembic. If purchased on its own, it will be delivered via regular postal mail.
