Illicit Spirits - Traditional Methods: Modern Results
"You'll find us in a railway arch in the Tradeston area of Glasgow, producing small-batch spirits on a traditional, direct-fired copper pot still. Our focus is on applying traditional methods to produce modern, unique and innovative spirits.
Our name is both a nod to the Illicit distillers of old, who have inspired our choice of still, and a reference to the fact that we are hidden away in an arch under the tracks leading south from Glasgow central. We are true Urban Craft Distillers.
Illicit Gin is taking gin back to its roots - a Juniper-led spirit, with plenty of warming spices and a bone-dry finish. We wanted to make something that stood up as a sipping spirit as well as being drunk with your favourite tonic. We like it garnished with a thick slice of orange peel and a bashed cardamom pod."
