Copper Heating Kettle
This multi purpose kettle can be used to heat any liquid one desires such as coffee, hot chocolate, alcohol spirits, etc.
Ideal for a cold winter’s night typically used in the Iberian Peninsula to make a heart-warming drink with wine and honey. The kettle is filled with wine and placed on a stovetop to heat it first then on the tea-light burner support to keep it warm.
May also be used to make mulled wines such as Glühwein, a German drink, also known as “vin chaud” in France or “vin brulè” in Italy.
Red wine is combined with spices such as cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, citrus fruit and sugar.
First place some water in the kettle with your selected spices and sugar; you may also add some orange rind for flavour. Bring to the boil and allow to simmer until thick and syrupy. Top up with wine and heat till just below boiling point. At this time you can transfer the kettle to the tea-light burner and serve the wine in the copper cups garnished with orange slices and cinnamon sticks. You should drink this just before bedtime, so don’t be driving anywhere.
